Big Sur Tour and Baja Cantina
For those of you planning on going on the Big Sur Carmel Valley tour on Saturday May 21 and eating at the Baja Cantina please read this carefully.
Baja Cantina, in response to complaints from car clubs about tardy service, has changed their policy. We can no longer make reservations for large groups without jumping through a lot of hoops that include making big dollar commitments to numbers and time and only have a pre-paid buffet.
Given that we are very short on time and didn’t plan on getting individual commitments and payments we are doing it the following way. Please choose one method:
1. You can just show up at the Cantina and ask to be seated.
2. If you wish to sit with a group of 6-8 you will need to coordinate with those people and be there together at the same time. You will need to make a reservation (831)625-2252. Please don’t delay if this is the way you wish to go as they only take 3 reservations for every 15 minute block. Please note that if there are 8 at the table there will be one check. You can order off the menu.
Additional notes:
We will start sign in at the Taco Temple parking lot at 8:30 and want the first cars to leave no later than 9:00 a.m. It takes 2.5 to 2.75 hours to get to the Baja Cantina from the parking lot if you do not stop and drive at reasonable speeds. Hoops and Trinidade will be there at 8:00 a.m. If you have made a reservation let them know so that we can group you together as cell phone service is very poor on Hwy 1. Better yet, email Art at pasotrin@gmail.com and he will be able to coordinate your group.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation. We were informed about this policy change on Tuesday otherwise we would have coordinated better. We will all get together at some point to take a photo and chat. So enjoy the beautiful tour.
