Porsches and Paella, 08
March 9, 2008
(CCCR of PCA)

At 11:00 a.m. roughly 30 of our CCCR Members (actually 2 of those were Golden Gate Region members)
Left San Luis Obsipo, through Santa Margarita to Hwy. 58. Then drove mostly back roads to San Miguel to the 10 St. Cafe.
We sat down to a delicious Basque dinner of Paella, crab cakes, salad, stuffed mushrooms,
added a little wine and a gorgeous day and our group had a great time.
After dinner, Dallas brought out a cake for this events two birthday boys.
Besides Cake, Tim DeTarr and Activities Director Rick Mareina were presented with bright red berets by Dallas of the 10St. Cafe
We had a nice drive, great lunch, party hats (two of us) and a wonderful day.
Thank you Rick and Rhonda for putting this event together, and thanks to anyone else that may have assisted with the planning.
10St owner and staff were great and quite appreciated. Here is a few pics below:

Getting ready at Costco

We could all sit in one room. In room "1"

We're getting ready for the first course.
Here in the other room, sit (as best I can see left to right)

Dallas helped provide a cake, and we helped celebrate Tim's and Rick's Birthday.

A few of our party discussing with Dallas (in the blue hat near the Basque Food sign) where to go for wine tasting.

Grand Prix Region of PCA visit Morro Bay
It's been a long time since I participated with another PCA Region in our home area.

On January 26, 2008, Grand Prix members drove in great weather (with the threat of more storms)
to Morro Bay to see the Elephant Seals and a bit of the area.
Alyce and I joined them for lunch at Great American Fish Company.
After lunch and fun conversation we lined up and departed (under now threating skies) heading north to the Elephant Seals
Alyce and I have been here often but never have we seen so many in the parking lot (cars not elepant seals).
Also, the beach was virtually paved with Elephant seals. Big ones (males), medium (females) and little ones some born withing the last few days.
We had an interesting docent led "tour".
Did you know the milk for the young is about the consistancy of mayonaise as it's loaded with fat
so the young can gain 10 pounds a day. This is because in 30 days, mom leaves (and leaves the little one) pregnant and doesn't come back until the next birth.
Alyce and I led them to the summit of Hwy 46 to the turnout to see the tremendous view
and after that stop led them down Santa Rosa Creek Road and back to Morro Bay.
At 6:30 we joined them for dinner at Dorn's and again the converstion was delightful.
We left several hours later promising to meet them again, soon.
I was told that the event was sponsored by Circle Porsche. So not only was this a fun time but very low cost.
Thanks to Grand Prix Region for letting us participate with them.
Thanks also, to Circle Porsche for funding this event.
We had fun!
